பாம்பன் மீனவர் வலையில் மருத்துவ குணம் கொண்ட ராட்சத சுறா மீன் சிக்கியது. பாம்பனில் இருந்து மீன்பிடிக்க சென்ற விசைபடகு மீனவர்கள் நேற்று காலை கரை திரும்பினர். மீனவர் ஒருவரின் வலையில் 210 கிலோ எடைகொண்ட ராட்சத சுறா மீன் சிக்கியது.மத்திய அரசு தடை விதித்துள்ள அரியவகை மீன் இனங்கள் பட்டியலில் சுறாவும் உள்ளது. இதையடுத்து வெளிநாடுகளுக்கு அனுப்புவதற்காக மீனின் மேல் புறம், பக்கவாட்டு பகுதி, வால் பகுதியில் உள்ள பீலி என்ற துடுப்பை மீனவர்கள் தனியாக அறுத்து எடுத்தனர்.இதர பகுதியை கேரளாவை சேர்ந்த மீன் வியாபாரிகள் கிலோ ரூ.150 என, விலை நிர்ணயம் செய்து கொள்முதல் செய்தனர்
