High waves in the range of 2.5 - 5.8 meters are forecasted during 20:30 hours on 16-05-2020 to23:30 hours of 19-05-2020 along the coast of Odisha from Gopalpur to Chandipur. Day(1) To Day(5):- The Well Marked Low Pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood along with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto midtropospheric levels persists. It is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over the same region during next 12 hours and further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over central parts of south Bay of Bengal by 16th May evening. It is very likely to move northwestwards initially till 17th and then recurve northnortheastwards towards north Bay of Bengal during 18th to 20th May. Under its influence Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting 65kmph likely to prevail over Southeast and adjoining central southwest Bay of Bengal on 15 May and 55-65 kmph gusting 75 kmph becoming Gale winds 65 -75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph likely over central parts of south and adjoining central Bay of Bengal on 16th May evening. Gale wind speed reaching 75-85 kmph gusting to 95 kmph likely over east central and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal on 17th May. Gale wind 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph over west central and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal on 18 th May and Gale wind 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph over North and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal. Fishermen are advised not to venture into deep sea area of south and central bay of Bengal from 15th May and westcentral and north Bay of Bengal from 18th May,2020.
