Sea turtles dig 50 to 80 centimeters on the beach, lay 100 to 150 eggs, and then cover the nests. It takes 7 to 10 weeks for the eggs to hatch. The temperature of these pits plays a major role in the production of male and female species. Only one in a thousand turtles is said to reach puberty through various obstacles.

கடல் ஆமைகள் கடற்கரையில் 50 முதல் 80 சென்டிமீட்டர் வரையிலான குழிதோண்டி அதில் 100 முதல் 150 முட்டைகளையிட்டு பின் அக்குழிகளை மூடி விடுகின்றன. முட்டைகள் பொரிப்பதற்கு 7 முதல் 10 வாரங்கள் வரை ஆகிறது. ஆண், மற்றும் பெண் இன உற்பத்தியில் இக்குழிகளின் வெப்ப நிலை பெரும் பங்கு வகிக்கிறது. ஆயிரம் ஆமைகளில் ஒன்று தான் பல்வேறு தடைகளை தாண்டி முதிரிந்த பருவத்தை அடைவதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
