Types of seaweed: About 20,000 species of seaweed have been found worldwide. There are 806 species in India alone. This includes 487 species of red, 136 brown algae and 133 green algae. Algae can be found in sea and pond and lake areas. But is found in large quantities in seawater. Today, seaweed is used in many fields worldwide. About 221 species are used in commercial systems. There are 145 species for use in food and 110 species for the production of bicycloid.

கடல்பாசியின் வகைகள் : கிட்டத்தட்ட 20,000 வகை கடல்பாசிகள் உலக அளவில் பரவியுள்ளதாகக் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் இந்தியாவில் மட்டும் 806 இனங்கள் உள்ளன. இதில் 487 வகை சிவப்பு, 136 பழுப்புப் பாசி வகைகள் மற்றும் 133 பச்சை பாசி இனங்கள் அடங்கும். பாசி வகைகள் கடல் மற்றும் குளம், ஏரி போன்ற இடங்களில் காணப்படுகின்றன. ஆனால் அதிக அளவு கடற்பகுதிகளில் காணப்படுகிறது. இன்றைக்கு உலக அளவில் கடல் பாசியானது பல்வேறு துறைகளில் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றது. சுமார் 221 இனங்கள் வர்த்தக முறைகளில் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றது. இதில் உணவுக்காக 145 இனங்களும் மற்றும் 110 இனங்கள் பைக்கோகோலாய்ட் உற்பத்தி செய்யவும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.
