தமிழகத்தில் கடந்த 8-ந் தேதி தென்மேற்கு பருவமழை தொடங்கினாலும், மேற்கு தொடர்ச்சி மலையை ஒட்டியுள்ள கன்னியாகுமரி, நீலகிரி போன்ற மாவட்டங்களின் சில பகுதிகளை தவிர, பிற பகுதிகளில் இந்த மழை பெய்யவில்லை. இந்த பகுதிகளில் அவ்வப்போது இதமான வானிலை நிலவினாலும் பெரும்பாலும் கோடை காலம் போன்றே வெயில் வாட்டி எடுக்கிறது.
