The severe cyclonic storm, VARDAH over southeast Bay of Bengal moved westnorthwestwards during past 06 hrs with a speed of 17 kmph and lay centred at 0230 hrs IST of today, the 10th December, 2016 over southeast Bay of Bengal near Latitude 12.5ºN and Longitude 89.0ºE, about 840 km south-southeast of Visakhapatnam, 930 km southeast of Machilipatnam and 410 km west-northwest of Port Blair. The system is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further during next 24 hours. It is very likely to maintain its peak intensity upto evening of 11th December 2016. Thereafter, it is likely to weaken gradually while moving towards Andhra Pradesh coast.
