The Depression over southwest Bay of Bengal moved westwards during past six hours with a speed of about 10 kmph, crossed north Tamil Nadu coast near Nagapattinam (about 20 km south of Karaikal) between 0400 and 0500 IST and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of the 2 nd December, 2016 over north Tamil Nadu near Latitude 10.8oN and Longitude 79.7oE, about 15 km west of Nagapattinam and 20 km southwest of Karaikal. It is very likely to move nearly westward and weaken into a well marked low pressure area during next 12 hours.
