The cyclonic storm “Nada” over southwest Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards during past six hours with a speed of about 22 kmph and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 1st December, 2016 near Latitude 10.4oN and Longitude 81.8oE over southwest Bay of Bengal, about 330 km south-southeast of Chennai, 270 km southeast of Puducherry and 210 km north-northeast of Trincomalee (Srilanka). The system is very likely to move west-northwestward,weaken gradually into a deep depression during next 12 hours and cross north Tamil Nadu coast between Vedaranniyam and Puducherry, south of Cuddalore by early hours of 2nd December.North Tamilnadu: High waves in the range of 2.5 – 3.0 meters are predicted during 10:30 hours on 01-12-2016 to 23:30 hours of 02-12-2016 along the Vedaranyam to Pulicat of Northern Tamil Nadu. வங்கக் கடலின் தென்கிழக்குப் பகுதியில் உருவான “நாடா” புயல் மணிக்கு 22 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில் மேற்கு திசையை நோக்கி நகர்ந்து வருகின்றது. இந்த புயல் அடுத்த 12 மணி நேரத்தில் படிபடியாக வலுவிழந்து காற்றழுத்த தாழ்வு மண்டலமாக மாறி வட மேற்கு திசையை நோக்கி நகர்ந்து, வேதாரண்யம் மற்றும் புதுச்சேரி இடையே டிசம்பர் 2, அன்று கரையை கடக்கும் என் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. இதனால் தமிழகம் மற்றும் புதுச்சேரி , கடலோரப் பகுதிகளில் இன்று முதல் மேலும் இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு,பரவலாக மழை பெய்யக்கூடும். காற்றின் வேகம் அதிகபட்சமாக மணிக்கு 45 -55 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில் வீசக்கூடும். அலையின் உயரம் 06 முதல் 08 அடி வரை காணப்படலாம். எனவே மீனவர்கள் தகுந்த பாதுகாப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ளுமாறு அறிவுறுத்தப்படுகிறார்கள்.
