The cyclonic storm ‘KYANT’ over eastcentral Bay of Bengal moved further westsouthwestwards in past 06 hours with speed 14 kmph and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of 26th October, 2016 over eastcentral Bay of Bengal, near Latitude 16.6º N and Longitude 89.0º E, 520 km east-southeast of Gopalpur, 620 km east-southeast of Vishakhapatnam and 830 km east-northeast of Machilipatnam. The system is very likely to slightly intensify further during next 24 hours. It is most likely to move west-southwestwards towards westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 72 hours.

బంగాళాఖాతంలో ఏర్పడిన క్యాంట్ తుఫాను 26వ తేదీ ఉదయానికి విశాఖపట్నంకి సుమారు 600 కి.మీ దూరంలో ఉంది. దీని ప్రభావంగా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లోని అన్ని తీరప్రాంతాలలో ఈ సాయంత్రం నుంచి గంటకు 45 నుంచి 55 కి.మీ వేగంతో గాలలు వీస్తాయి మరియు 27వ తేదీ ఉదయం నుంచి కొన్ని ప్రాంతాలలో భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తాయి. ప్రస్తుతం వున్న దిశ ప్రకారం ఇది మచిలీపట్నం మరియు చెన్నై ల మధ్య 29వ తేదీ తీరం దాటే అవకాశం ఉంది. తీరందాటే సమయంలో గంటకు 70 నుంచి 80 కి.మీ వేగంతో గాలులు వీచే అవకాశం ఉన్నట్లు భారత వాతావరణ శాఖ తెలియచేసింది
